I am sorry you have been incorrectly issued a parking notice by our car park management company "Parking Eye" and as a valued patron will request this be revoked. I have contacted you directly to see to the necessary arrangements Kind regards, Ed. The plus side is that the staff are very helpful and friendly. I left a suit behind when we left and this was found and sent on to me expeditiously. The down side is that the Hotel Is living on past glories.
I can see that the antiquity of the main building is attractive to overseas visitors, but the hotel cannot trade for ever on history.
We stayed in a de luxe room, a misnomer if ever there was one. They are small and lacking in facilities, for instance, there was only one armchair and two wooden kitchen type chairs, hardly de luxe.
I understand there have been previous complaints, and these rooms have supposedly been renovated! The second floor is unsuitable for persons who are only slightly disabled. I note this has been noted in a previous review, but there is nothing on the website warning visitors. The restaurant is ok but hardly five star. It was a real pleasure to read your very kind comments regarding our team and i am also pleased your lost property was efficiently returned. We are fortunate The Lygon Arms has an amazing history however as a team we never rest on our laurels as we continuously look to evolve the property and our guests experience, which remains at the heart of what we do.
I am sorry on this occasion you felt the room was not suitable and in the future should you have any specific requests regarding amenities or location do not hesitate to let us know and we will endeavour to allocate an option more suitable to your requirements. Our Head Chef Ales and his team work tirelessly to source the very best local produce with quality at the forefront of there minds.

Should you wish to discuss anything in more detail i remain at your disposal. Kind regards, Ed. Our first weekend away without the kids in six years, as well as a celebration Having dined in the restaurant a couple of times when visiting the Cotswolds, but having never staying at the hotel we knew straight away that if we were going to do Broadway in style, there was only one place for it. We were greeted warmly by Reception staff and they kindly amended our dinner booking, as we had been held up on our way there Damn you, M25 We were shown to one of the 'Deluxe' rooms, which was comfortable and well maintained, rather than deluxe per se, but decent enough for the couple of nights we had booked.
It was clean but relatively small for the money, although it did have nice touches, like the Floris bath and shower gels, and a Nespresso machine. We settled in. After dinner see other review and a couple of cocktails we went to bed. Now, when you're a parent to two young kids you miss sleep. And this weekend we planned on doing plenty of catching up on that. We gleefully turned off our alarms, knowing that all we had to get up for was our breakfast. What we didn't expect was the fire alarm going off at on the Saturday morning, frightening the life out of us. It went on and on and on and we hurriedly got dressed to leave but then it stopped.
With no mention from staff afterwards. So there goes one lie in. Unfortunate luck perhaps, but then we were woken on the Sunday too by another false alarm, this time at Not ideal at all, and a quite horrible way to wake up.

Our biggest disappointment of the stay however was the spa. I had booked a surprise massage and 'Deluxe Manicure' for my wife as a treat. We had to cancel the massage due to her damaged ribs long story but at least she had the 'Deluxe' there's that word again manicure to look forward to.
I went to the well-equipped gym as she had the treatment. She came out of the spa not looking quite as pleased as I had hoped she would. She didn't complain, but even I could tell as soon as I saw them that it was a bad job. The nail colour was on the skin on some fingers, and some of the nails weren't completely painted on others. I was let down, and she was disappointed, but we didn't want it to ruin the weekend because we had been having a great time until then.
A couple more cocktails that night, along with a Tiramisu in the courtyard as the sun set, and our weekend came to a close. The staff are magnificent, the food and drink are top notch, and the hotel is beautiful and wonderfully rich with history. I so desperately wanted to give this place 5 stars as it really is quite magical, but it fell just short because of the standards that you would expect for this price range.
We will definitely be back, and they will hopefully win that extra point from us. The Lygon Arms, we love you, our stolen weekend was almost perfect.

Dear Teamlaw Firstly I am delighted you enjoyed your stay with us so much, but of course disappointed by the fire alarm going off, which was caused by steam from a shower which set it off on both days, we of course investigated what happened and found a faulty detector, so my apologies you and the rest of the hotel were startled at such an early time.
This has now been rectified I am really pleased you enjoyed the hotel and you did manage to relax after all!
If I could ask you to ring Rob my spa Manager regarding your wife's nails I would be grateful. I would of course hoped if you were not happy on the day you would have told us, but not to worry. Being an old hotel which is it's attraction one expects the rooms to be lovely old fashioned. Unfortunately ours was old and pokey and unpleasant.https://discstacololiv.gq

Room 59! The curtains in the room were ill-fitting so that the early morning sun falls directly on the 'would be' sleepers making a holiday lie-in impossible. To add insult to injury a truck arrived at 6. The resultant crash of broken glass was something else. Never again!. On the plus side the staff were lovely.. Dear Excursion First of all I am glad to read you found the team lovely, but of course I am disappointed by the content of the rest of your review.
The blinds in the corridor are there just to mask the services that have to be external and therefore not to be seen by our guests, air conditioning condensers, kitchen extract which of course has to be there. The bin lorry in question was not picking up from the Lygon Arms but I am investigating with other local businesses, restaurant and cafes how this could happen at such an early time, so please accept my apologies. On this occasion this is certainly out of my control but will try and work with the local businesses so they can get the empty glasses picked up later in the day I do hope that this one off incident which is out of my control will not deter you from joining us again.
